Nothing special in this blog post other than to let you guys know that the new blog is almost finished. Get ready for a serious change, including flash headers, unlimited commenting by anyone, twitter capabilities and BIG BIG images. I'll be sending out the link in a newsletter next month to keep everyone informed. Along with this, the website is going to get a bit of a facelift with things like new music, current photos and such. With as much volume as I've been taking in lately, I have to dedicate a week or so for this specific task. Also, the portrait site will be up again very soon. It's been overhauled as well :)

I don't know if it was out of sheer boredom or whether the new DOMINO magazine has started taking an affect on us, but for some reason we decided to paint our kitchen orange this weekend. I suppose we planned to paint it, I just never thought it would actually happen. I've taken a little crap with choosing the color we did. Abby of course is a big OSU fan...her family practically bleeds orange. While, as most of you know, I just bleed red...dark, razorback red. But, when it came down to it...Abby got the kitchen (and 6 other rooms in the house)...while I got my office and the garage (no surprise there.)

I've always heard those crazy stories about people running over deer, or "the deer just jumped out in front of me"...as if deer had a death wish. I never thought it would happen to me. Then last night came. Driving home from Tulsa on 412, this poor suicidal deer chose me to take his life. In fact, he looked me in the eye before he jumped out...like some sort of sick joke. Its deer season though, so I tied him up to the roof of the beat up 4Runner and have been cooking up a nice batch of Deer Jerky....no, not really.

So i came across these photos today in my phone, (which is also the camera I use to photograph all weddings and seniors). Look at them. Cutest kids to ever be in my phone and now the permanent background. Here we have Elle and Silas Robinson, the products of Finley and Brooke Robinson. Brooke does amazing photography you can find here. Actually, many of you know this, but Brooke helped me get my foot in the door this past summer by trusting me with many of her faithful wedding clients while she was pregnant with Maye, another good looking child. So, if you need amazing photography and I'm too busy or lazy to do it, call her!

So, as many of you already know, I'm a huge Razorback fan. This year the Hogs will conduct a new experiment called a "pass game". As most of us are used to seeing three running plays and a punt on almost every possession, this could be weird to watch. Well, they passed the first test on Saturday vs. Western Illinois --- but barely. It took three quarters for us to find any sort of rhythm, but when we did, new Head Coach Bobby Patrino looked like a genius. It was actually fun to watch. Here's a clip of my joy. Go Hogs.

It's here. Meet the newest member of my family. I haven't really had the chance to think about names, but that'll come with time. There really is no comparison between this guy and the newest Nikon, the D700. Both are full frame, both are fast and both work well. Even still, the D3 delivers a different level of power and precision. Even from things like the beeping sound it makes, or the strategically re-placed buttons. Plus, you know you've got a good one when the serial numbers look you right in the face every time you turn it on. I like my number. It makes me feel special. It reminds me that there are only this many out there, and I have one. Go me. Well, all this to say, even the best camera available won't take photos for you (though many seem think it's possible).

In my opinion, there is a lot to be said about running a business with your whole heart and a lot of class. Secondly, Bedford Camera and Video. This is where it all started for me! These guys know everything there is to know about cameras and such. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME GOING TO BEST BUY OR WAL-MART! Those people know nothing. Sure you might pay 15 bucks less for the same camera, but trust me, the 15 bucks could easily be credited toward the customer service you'll receive. So last week I had the pleasure of shooting Chandra and Matt's engagement photos at the local skating rink. I'll be honest, I was a little concerned when I pulled up thinking "what could we possibly do here..." -- Then I saw what they were wearing ... hilarious. So, I thought I'd jump right in by renting a pair of "speed" skates. Ha, I love my job. (Oh ps, the owner of the rink turned out to be a "photographer..." that's how these wonderful pics came to be!)

I had the opportunity to get away from work for a while, so I met up with Abby in Las Vegas! Despite it being the most scandalous place on earth, we had a blast. You really can't see it all in one visit, so I plan on going back very soon (never again in July)!

If you haven't got ahold of any jedidiah t-shirts, do yourself a favor. Besides the sick design work and killer feel, they don't shrink, they're only $30.00 (compared to most shirts in the same genre ranging between $45-$70) and part of the proceeds go to "good causes." I'm still not sure what that looks like...Also, my new Time Capsule by Apple has taken my hard drive security on a whole new level. The time capsule allows you to wirelessly back up your entire system...but you must be running the new Leopard on a Mac. Sorry PC users, Microsoft will likely never have anything like this :( It offers lightening fast wireless internet and a crap load of storage for a very reasonable price. Not to mention the hard drive is "server grade." Mine ran me $299.00.

Jumper was one of the more exciting films I've seen in a while. I love when movies offer me something that I haven't seen before while mixing it with a feeling that I love. Everyone wants the power to teleport, lets face it. Besides getting to see and do anything you want, we'd go a long way toward reducing carbon emissions if everyone could just jump around. Cloverfield offered a different (but not new, see "the blair witch project") perspective of what contemporary film looks like. With the entire story being filmed from a hand held video camera, high definition of course, we get to see a giant monster (or cloverfield) destroy New Your City. What I love most, besides the vantage point, is the comic relief that the film provided even though everyone is dying. The Happening on the other hand was crap. MNS is on a drastic free-fall. After the sixth sense and signs, his films have lacked some serious acting (also see "the village") For being so creative and artistic, you'd think he would invest a little time in his dialogue. Regardless, after leaving the theatre, I felt like recycling. :)

i bought a new camera today. it's going to be real handy for those hard to shoot weddings or crazy senior portrait sessions. say hello to my new Nikon Coolpix s600! actually, i really needed a new point and shoot. the technology in these little terds has changed so much over the last couple of years. i recommend investing the $300.00 it would take to get a new one. most of them come with 10 megapixels standard now (though i shoot mine on 5 and the images come out great). Also, look for some sort of Vibration Reduction. That will help achieve sharper images in crappy lighting conditions. I usually prefer Canon in the point and shoot department (i know, canon sucks and it's a sin to mention them on my blog). but not true. canon makes a crap load of amazing camera's...especially the point and shoots.

As most of you know, Wedding season is around the corner. I find it hard to take a break from photography, but even then, I still try and fit in other work, such as senior portraits. I love seniors though, they are practically care free (just give them 4 more years...when mom and dad stop supporting them). I love the attitudes I come across. I think my new post production technique fits well with them. Hopefully it's something that will take off around here...who knows. I don't update enough, I know. I'm working on that. So my life has been super busy lately. I no longer work at Revolution Technologies as a web designer, I'm officially a full time photographer! The timing seemed to be perfect really. I was at a point where I could no longer spend my days away from where my heart and mind were. Things are about to pick up big time. Several major website updates are on the way, along with new products that I'm really excited about! Big plans for this summer, so check in often! Driving Record

So, something that many of you don't know about me is my notorious history of collection high dollar speeding tickets. From ages 16-20, I managed to receive nine (9) speeding tickets, most of them being from Oklahoma State Troopers. Well, the above image is evidence that I am now three years clean from a speeding ticket, which means my auto insurance can now go from absurd, to really high. That's good news. Also, I'm all moved to the new place in Fayetteville. It's a little tight with two people, but better than crappy Rogers. Sorry I've waited so long to post...my life has been boring for the last 10 days and I thought I'd spare everyone the pointless writing. So, to the point! I'm moving this week. Back to Fayetteville I go. Rogers is for old people. I feel left out I guess. Anyway, here's a photo of a nice moving truck to help everyone connect with me a little. Today for lunch, after eating pizza and some frozen custard, myself and Patrick (a co-worker) made our way down to Bedford Camera...one of my favorite places of course. I was simply there to order a few prints, but while doing so, in the corner of my eye I noticed a big gold box with D3 printed on the side. Chills ran down my body. I've been waiting to actually see and touch this camera up close. For my readers with no camera knowledge, the Nikon D3 is the Hallmark of Professional Digital Cameras. If not so invested in lenses, all Canon users would convert. Sadly, there little Mark 3 no longer sits atop. Anyway, I began to fiddle around with it and realized that I really had to have one. Currently I shoot a Nikon D300, which is the red-headed step child of the professional line of Nikons. To be honest, people consider it a Semi-Pro camera, though still delivering quality that has yet to be matched my any camera with a price tag under $5000, including Canon's 5D (don't freak out, I like the 5D, it's just been outdone, that's all). I love my camera, don't get me wrong. I love it's speed, quality, versatility and durability. But it's no D3. (all my D200 friends are saying "are you kidding, I would do anything for a D300"). Well, yes, it's a nice improvement from the old version (which I still have and use, along with my F100 film camera), but the D3 is on a whole new level. So, I'm officially accepting donations towards me owning the finest picture taking machine available today. That was lunch for me....

Today was neat. I decided to stop drinking coffee (yea right). "You're too young!" someone told me the other day. So I thought about it. She was right...at 23 there are much better things to be drinking than coffee. I like juice...and milk....and sometimes puma kola! Coffee just seems to brighten my day a little bit. But we'll see. So I've been designing templates for my up and coming coffee table albums that will be introduced in the near future. They won't necessarily take the place of the magazine albums (God knows I love those things), but will be an additional option for the album guru's out there. They really are gorgeous though. Soon...

This is my second post today. I'm trying to get into the habit of doing this.

Since I work with programmers (smart people) all day, they talked me into customizing my blog by editing the HTML code. Of course, that's all foreign to me, I'm just a designer. Well, an hour later, 2 "smart people" are at my desk helping me reconfigure the CSS that structures the blog. It was pretty fun...and the results? A blog that will soon be very much customized to my liking. I like having smart friends, they're handy.

So as most of you know, currently I have a day job building websites. This is where I'll be posting most of my blogs, i'm sure of it. I hope everyone plans on voting, though I'm still undecided on which candidate I like the best. The Democrats seem to have a couple of decent options, I'm not real sure about the Republicans though..really, I don't know why I'm blabbing about politics. They confuse me.
